At Southern Cross we ensure that our expert learning facilitators remain at the cutting edge of their specialiation and approaches to quality teaching and learning.
The college has developed a whole school approach to professional learning which is underpinned by collaborative professionalism, and informs teaching and learning practices. In addition, weekly professional learning sessions assist to broaden these practices while also creating greater congruence within the learning environment.
All learning facilitators hold nationally recognised qualifications in the discipline in which they teach, with three and five years industry experience (depending on the industry) as well as relevant education qualifications.
The professional learning plan is informed by the college’s improvement agenda, and aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and Performance Growth in Action.
