The School of Performing Arts presents “A Fly Through Time” Cabaret (a showcase of dance, drama and music works by a mixture of our full time and part time Performing Arts students). A showcase designed by our Year 12 Musical Theatre class (Community Dance, Theatre & Events).

Students apply for entry into their chosen discipline (major study), and may choose a second discipline as their minor study area.

Discipline areas include:

  • Dance (Classical or Contemporary)
  • Drama
  • Music – Instrumental (Classical or Contemporary)
  • Music – Voice (Classical or Contemporary)
  • Musical Theatre – Singing, Dancing and Acting

The Southern Cross Advantage is the ability to provide personalised learning, and micro-credentialing for students, alongside a full ATAR pathway studying NESA Board Developed Courses. In addition to Stage 5 and 6 Dance, Drama and Music courses, students have the opportunity to develop skills as a triple threat in the study of Music Theatre, whilst earning a Certificate III in Community Dance Theatre and Events.

Entry to the school is by audition and interview. Once enrolled, students study NESA Board Developed curriculum, along with specialised, rigorous performing arts masterclasses to hone their craft in their chosen discipline of Singing, Instrumental Music, Dancing or Acting. Students are also strongly encouraged to choose a second performing arts subject to complement their major study.
